Motivation changes from day to day. A routine gets easier to repeat when the next step is clear and small enough to fit into an ordinary week.

Pick a time and a minimum

Choose one or two times that usually work. Decide what counts as a complete short visit before you arrive: for example, a warm-up and a few movements you already know. You can do more when you have the time and energy, while still having a simple plan for busy days.

Prepare one thing in advance

Set out your clothes, fill a water bottle, or write down the first movement you want to try. Reducing small decisions can make it easier to get through the door.

Track showing up, not just numbers

After a visit, note the date and one thing you learned. If you miss a day, return to the next opportunity rather than trying to make up for it with an extra-hard session. If your energy or health changes, adjust the plan and seek qualified advice when you need it.

The NHS recommends spreading activity through the week and building up gradually.
